Jannah Miren Hernandez is a Sisler High School graduate. She is studying at the University of Manitoba to fulfill her dream to become a nurse.
Jannah enjoys volunteering at hospitals to gain hands-on experience in the field. Unfortunately, the pandemic has stopped her from doing what she loves. Add to this the burden of looking for a job while attending school, Jannah’s stress has gone through the roof.
She says to the Westland Foundation donors, “Thank you for the scholarship; I would have stretched myself too thin without it. My stress has significantly reduced because of your financial help. It has also allowed me to devote more time and energy to my studies.”
Donor generosity motivates Jannah to continue her studies even after her nursing program. She hopes to return the favour by helping other students one day.
