RBC Royal Bank Volunteer Team: Proud Westland Volunteers

“We are proud to represent RBC at important community events. It is an opportunity for us to demonstrate how much RBC cares about and is present in our community.”

Remon Yang, Senior Account Manager, Royal Bank of Canada.

Remon was one of RBC employees who assisted in Westland’s Fundraising Breakfasts from 2017 to 2019.

He said, “The Scholarship helps inner-Winnipeg students recognize their abilities and celebrate their academic accomplishments. It inspires them to accomplish short-term educational goals that will lead them to achieving long-term life goals.’’

RBC supports employee engagement in communities. In honour of Remon’s team’s volunteer time with Westland, a $1,000 donation was made to Westland’s 2017 and 2018 Breakfasts respectively. The donations were made through RBC's Day of Service Grants. Remon’s branch holds a day of service every year and has sent many volunteer teams to different community groups.

Michelle Aitkenhead, RBC Community Manager of Winnipeg North, made the Westland volunteer opportunity possible and was also one of the 2017 to 2019 Breakfasts' volunteers. She is grateful for the opportunity Westland provided Remon and his team to help our communities prosper.

RBC believes that volunteering is vital to building better communities. Since 1999, RBC has donated more than $24 million in celebration of its employees’ volunteer efforts.

Westland sincerely thanks RBC Royal Bank for its volunteer participation and invaluable contributions towards its Fundraising Breakfasts!
