Asher Wood feels honoured to be a Westland Foundation scholar. A graduate of St. John’s High School, his goal is to complete a business degree at the University of Manitoba. Asher wants to translate this degree into a career and hopes to find the joy of working in his chosen field.
Asher greatly appreciates the scholarship he received this past fall. He says, “It’s a financial relief. It keeps me motivated to push myself and hold myself to a higher standard.”
Asher shares that it is quite challenging to manage a busy lifestyle with the added financial pressure of university education. Despite the challenges, he still believes in the value of having a higher level of education. He encourages inner-Winnipeg students to never give up on their university dream and encourages them to work hard for their goals in order to live up to their full potential.
